Dominican Purple Tarantula

(Phormictopus sp) is a tropical species from Cuba.  They are known to be aggressive, with stinging hairs and a painful bite. They mainly feed on insects, and burrow in deep tunnels. The average male lifespan is 2-4 years, while the female lifespan is up to 15 years.
